Hi loves!
What is it with all the hype over eyebrows these days? Is it just me or are they EVERYWHERE? And what is this "on fleek" business everyone is using to describe them? Can we stop making up ridiculous words now? Seriously, search #browsonfleek on Instagram! Sorry, rant over. Anyway, if you haven't noticed, brows are on fleek everywhere! That means that almost every cosmetic brand is trying to step up their brow game to keep up with the trend and releasing new products so all of our brows can be on fleek! *Last time I swear!
I've never paid much attention to my brows before now. Maybe the occasional pencil fill in, or clear gel to keep them in place, but honestly, I'm lucky if mine are plucked half the time! Lol! My eyebrows are darker than my blonde hair, but still really really light! It makes it hard to find the right shade that doesn't make them look gray, orangey, or too dark! So I figured, what the hell, why not try some of these new fangled products that promise I will have... ahem... amazing brows! ;)
I picked up the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in Ulta recently and couldn't wait to give it a try! It seemed like it would be pretty user friendly since it is just a tinted brow gel and the "sculpting ball" seemed like it would be easy to control.
The first time I used it, I went in very cautiously. The "sculpting ball" seemed a little on the large size for such a precise area with such little tiny hairs. It really was all down hill from there.... First, the "sculpting ball" picks up way too much product. I gently ran the ball end of the brush over the thickest part of my eyebrow (above the inner corner of my eye) and ended up with huge clumps! I tried to smooth them out, but it dried insanely fast and just clumped even more in my eyebrow hair. Somehow, by the time I was done, I looked like I had caveman brows. It was actually frightening. I tried to fix them with a spooly wand and it actually continually got worse. The product was sticky, streaky, and basically felt like tiny pieces of chewing gum or wax in the hairs. You guys... it was not good at all! I even had an extremely difficult time getting the product off my eyebrows with my makeup remover. And I mean difficult to the point where panic had started to sink in a little. I was horrified by the whole experience.
I was so reluctant to even try this a second time, but because I love you guys, and want to give accurate product reviews, I bit the bullet and went for round number two. The second experience was pretty much just as awful as the first. A complete mess. AND I was being even more cautious having learned my lesson the first time! I don't get what this stuff is supposed to do!? It doesn't look natural at all!
So needless to say this product is pretty much a big disappointment! No #browsonfleek here ladies! Lol! ;) There has to be a better way and so my search continues!

Ps. If there are any brow products you love, please let me know and help a girl out! :)
